Whatever you drive in mid-February, a Miata or OTM (Other Than Miata), we hope that you will join us for a winter getaway to visit Michigan automotive heritage sites, Presidents’ Day weekend, Saturday, February 18 through Monday, February 20.
Our plans include:
· 2 nights (Saturday and Sunday) at a hotel within easy driving distance of the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan, and other attractions within the Motor Cities National Heritage Area
· Saturday morning departure from the Chicago area. Leisurely drive to our hotel, with one or two museum / historic site visits along the way
· Sunday visit to the Henry Ford museum and/or other nearby sites, as you choose
· Monday morning visits to one or one or two museum / historic sites, along our homeward route
Chris and I will spend most of Sunday at the Henry Ford Museum. However, we’ve selected our lodging location so that it will be easy for you to visit other museums and historic homes in Flint, Lansing, Grosse Point, Ypsilanti, and points between. All are 50 miles or less from our hotel.

If you’ve never been to the Henry Ford Museum (or even if you have!), please consider joining Chris and me for our Sunday visit there. Whether you are interested in airplanes, doll houses, all things Presidential, or (gasp!) cars, the Henry Ford Museum is the place to go! You might even have an IMAX NASCAR experience. Here are a few estimates, to help you decide if you’d like to join this tour:
· Approximate driving distance from Chicago to our hotel: 280 miles
· Projected total tour distance, including Sunday’s trip to Dearborn: 700 miles
· Standard room at hotel: $76 per room, per night, $152 for 2 nights, plus taxes
· Breakfast: Continental breakfast included in room rate
· Dinners Saturday and Sunday: est. $22 per person, per day, $88 for 2 people, Sat & Sun
· Lunches Sat, Sun, Mon: est. $10 per person, per day, $60 for 2 over 3 days
· Museum fees: Can’t estimate. Will depend on which attractions you decide to see. Please look at the websites mentioned above. Henry Ford Museum group rate is $14 pp.
