We will meet at the Lamb's Farm in Libertyville (adult residential village
for adults who are developmentally challenged) which has been in operation for
years and helps to support those residents that work in our village. There is
a large parking lot and restaurant that opens at 8AM for breakfast with lots
of goodies and the food is very good. They are expecting us so service will
be efficient. You can order off the menu with separate tables as you arrive.
We will leave there at 9:15 - 9:30AM for the tour.
We'll travel some back roads through Illinois and Wisconsin, stopping at
Bower's produce (a favorite place for many years with seasonal produce,
pumpkins, squash, apples etc.) and then back roads to lunch at the Delafield
Brewhaus in Delafield, WI about 12:30pm. Then some more back roads and
another stop at the Elegant Farmer. a place that has those great apple pies
baked in the brown paper bags plus lots of bakery, cheese and sausages for
sale. There is an electric train there if you wish to tour the countryside on
the train - but not part of the tour. It is their Fall weekend which can be
crowded and the tour will end around that area I-43 and Route 12 , Mukwonago
which will take you back home on various routes about 4-5PM.
Lamb's Farm is located at the exit Rt 176 off I-294/94, down the ramp and
across the road. If coming from the west, come east on Rt 176 towards the
highway.
I would like to know how many will stay with the tour and have lunch so I can
give the restaurant a headcount so please RSVP about the lunch.
Thanks and hope to see you on the Fall Color Tour.
