Why Autocross??

..."I consider (autocross) to be, arguably, the best place to learn car control"...

T.C. Kline, a well-known driver and car builder with over 20 years of autocrossing and road racing (both club and pro) experience.

..."The skills you learn and practice here; smooth transitions, enhanced braking, and skid correction, will have an immediate impact on improving the safety and skill of your street driving. Solo II is an excellent way to teach car control to young drivers in a safe environment"...
Kate Hughes, author of Solo II Novice Handbook.

8. What is the day's schedule?

  • A. Plan to arrive between 8:30 and 9 am (9:30 & 10 am Indiana Time).
  • Park your car and register, then unload loose items.
  • Walk the course until the drivers' meeting at 9:30 (10:30 Indiana Time).
  • You will be assigned to one of three run groups, and your schedule will rotate between driving, working (picking up cones), and resting.
  • We don't take a lunch break; you can eat during your rest period.
  • We usually finish the runs and hand out the awards by 4:00 (5:00 Indiana Time).
  • After the awards, there is usually time for "fun runs".
  • LATE FEE:  In order to provide all competitors with as many autocross runs as possible, we have decided to encourage prompt registration. Registrations after 9:15 am (10:15 Indiana Time) will be assessed a $5.00 surcharge. The drivers' meetings will begin at 9:30 am (10:30 Indiana Time) and, for safety reasons, people who miss the drivers' meetings will not be allowed to register.
