UPDATE: Due to a number of road construction issues, we have changed the Starting point and time. We will now leave from the McDonalds in Winnebago, IL 103 Capriola Parkway, Winnebago, IL. The McDonalds is behind the Road Ranger station at the corner of Route 20 and N. Elida st.

Drivers meeting will be at 9:30am sharp. We will depart at 9:45am.


Sue and I will be leading this 2 day tour. There is a 15 car limit. We will be leaving from Elgin at 8:45am on Saturday August 11th. We will enjoy great country roads as we make our way to the Town of Mazomanie for lunch in a converted 1857 grain mill. After lunch we will stop at the Midwest Micro Car Museum a few blocks away.

We will then continue our drive to visit Dr. Evermore’s Sculpture Park.  We will continue our drive north to the town of Reedsburg, WI and to The Voyageur Inn and conference center for our overnight stay. After checking in we will have dinner at the Reedsburg Country Club.

At 9am the following morning we will have breakfast at the restaurant adjacent to the hotel.

After breakfast we will be off to enjoy more great back roads on our Drive to Botham Vineyards in Barneveld WI. Featured cars will be related to Carroll Shelby.

After about 3 hours at the vineyard we are off on the start of our homeward drive on more great Miata roads. There is a planned stop for a late lunch/ early dinner in Durand IL. at the Fire Barn.  At this point the tour will conclude.

Cost of the tour:

The room rate is $99.00

We are still working out the details for lunch on Saturday. Plan on a $15.00 per person cost.

There is no fee for either the Micro Car Museum or Dr. Evermor’s Sculpture Park. Dinner on Saturday night and Breakfast on Sunday morning will be off the menu.

There is a $10.00 per person admission fee to Botham Vineyards. Fees are donated to the Iowa County Humane Society, a no-kill shelter in Dodgeville, WI..

Food at the Fire Barn on Sunday will also be off the menu.
