NOTE the “Cars and Quilts” tour, described below, was announced in April and tour registration opened in late May.  If you are interested in going on this tour, please contact us by email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to learn whether there are still openings (or to be put on the wait list).

We are leading a "Cars and Quilts" tour to northern Indiana, exploring the Heritage Trail through the Amish communities of Nappanee, Elkhart, Goshen, Shipshewana, Bristol, Wakarusa and Middlebury.

The area features 17 Quilt Gardens, 14 Quilt Murals, 24 Seward Johnson bronze sculptures, historic sites, shopping and great eating.  We will also see two very special private car collections.  There will be free time for you to explore "on your own" or with other tour participants, as well as several group meals and events.

The tour will begin at the eastbound Lincoln Oasis (mile marker 1 on Interstates 294 & 80) around 8:00 am on Wednesday, July 27 and end after lunch on Friday, July 29 in Elkhart, about 3 miles from the Indiana Toll Road (I-80/I-90).

Lodging:  We have secured a block of hotel rooms for $139 per night plus 12% tax.  Deluxe continental breakfast is included.

Tour fee:  The tour fee of $85 per person pays for your tour materials, admission to the car collections, and several meals:  Wednesday deli lunch, Wednesday dinner served family style in an Amish home, Thursday buffet dinner, and Friday lunch.  Other costs are on your own.

FYI, a word about "adult beverages":  This is an Amish area and many of the businesses reflect and respect Amish culture.  The hotel we are using does not permit alcoholic beverages anywhere on its campus, and the restaurants we have contracted with do not serve alcohol.
