Fall Color Tour – Sunday Oct 20, 2019
Hosted by Leonie O’Donohoe and Kenton Andersen with Ed and Jane Ferris
This year will mark the 27th annual Fall Color Tour. As in prior years, we’ll start at Lamb’s Farm in Libertyville and end at Crandall’s Restaurant in Hebron. We’ll include the popular twisty roads of the Kettle Moraine, but, in response to feedback, a few new routes too. Back by popular demand, we’ll be stopping at Bower’s Farm Stand.
Lamb’s Magnolia Cafe will open their buffet at 8:00 am to accommodate us. If we have more than 20 cars, we plan on sending out two groups, the first at 8:40 and the second at 9:00. Lamb’s is just off northbound I-94 at IL-176 Rockland Road (exit 16). Please arrive with a full tank of gas – the tollway oasis is just 2 miles before Lamb's, and it is 85 miles to the first gas station on the tour.
Please join us for lunch at Crandall’s Restaurant, home of the famous broasted chicken, (but they have a full menu) 10441 Main St (IL-47) in Hebron IL. It will be a late lunch, we expect to arrive at Crandall’s at about 2pm: You might want to bring snacks to tide you over.
Checks will be by tables. Crandall's has a slow credit card machine, so they suggest you bring cash.
We’re hoping to catch peak color and have a fun day on the twisties of Wisconsin and Illinois. Be there or be square!
